In this article, Daum argues that PETA should not be wasting their time protesting against the Westminster Dog Show’s Meet the Breed day. Daum is very credible in the argument due to her stating that she went to Meet the Breed day, and could not find anything that goes against the ethical treatment of animals. To help prove her point, Daum stated, “Most of the dogs I met were not scheduled to compete in the dog show proper. As several handlers explained to me, it's tiring to spend all day being petted by thousands of people, and putting a dog into competition on top of that would be asking too much.” By showing the moral treatment of the dog show animals through her first hand experiences, any argument PETA could attempt to make against the Westminster Dog Show cannot be held valid. Daum affectively makes this point throughout the whole article, and it was a valuable point to make due to the long-time feud between the Westminster Dog Show and PETA that now, can be put to rest.
